LAKE CHARLES- McNeese women's basketball will end the most challenging part of its schedule Tuesday when the Cowgirls travel to Baton Rouge to face No. 7 LSU and the defending National Champions at 7 p.m. The game will be streamed on SECN+/ESPN+. The game can be heard on Talk Radio 1470.com with Bruce Merchant calling the action.

LSU (9-1) will be the third nationally ranked team the Cowgirls will have played in their last four games. McNeese (3-6) played at then No. 14 Baylor on Nov. 24 and most recently at No. 13 Kansas State on Dec. 6.

LSU holds a 17-4 series record over McNeese and has won the last seven meeting with the last meeting coming during the 2018-19 season. LSU defeated McNeese 86-36. The last McNeese win over LSU came during the 1982-83 season with the Cowgirls picking up a narrow 89-88 win in Lake Charles.

The Tigers, who are coming off an 83-53 win over UL-Lafayette on Sunday have six players averaging in double figures. Aneesah Morrow leads the Tigers with 19.1 ppg. while Angel Reese, who leads the team with 9.8 rpg., is averaging 17.8 ppg. Mikaylah Williams is also averaging 17.8 ppg. Hailey Van Lith is averaging 12.2 ppg., Sa'Myah Smith (11.7 ppg.) and Flau'jae Johnson (10.8 ppg.) are also averaging double figures.

LSU's only loss of the season was a 92-78 loss to Colorado in its season opener at the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame Series on Nov. 6. Since that loss, LSU has won its last nine games.
