LAKE CHARLES- McNeese women's basketball will host Tarleton State (2-6) at 1 p.m. Saturday in its final game before the Christmas break. The game will be streamed on ESPN+.Â

McNeese will return to action on Dec. 31 to host Arkansas-Pine Bluff in its final non-conference game before its Southland Conference opener on Jan. 4 at Northwestern State.

McNeese (4-7) is coming off a 93-46 home win over Centenary on Thursday in a game that saw
Mireia Yespes score a career high 35 points. Yespes (10.8 ppg.) is one of two Cowgirls currently averaging in double figures.

Emilia Tenbrock heads into the game leading McNeese in scoring (11.8 ppg.) and Julie Puente leads the team with 5.1 rpg.

Tarleton State (2-6) enters the game on a two-game losing streak, both losses to Southland Conference teams. McNeese will be the third straight Southland Conference school Tarleton State will face in as many games.

Tarleton's most recent loss (57-42) was against Incarnate Word on December 10. The Texans also lost to Northwestern State, 59-51 on Dec. 6.

Teresa Da Silva leads the Texans in scoring (11.6 ppg.) and Faith Acker leads with 7.0 rpg. Acker is also second on the team in scoring with 10.5 ppg.
