LEXINGTON, Ky.—For the second straight year, McNeese libero
Bailey Tillman has been named to the AVCA (American Volleyball Coaches Association) South All-Region team, the organization announced Tuesday. Tillman was named to the first team and is the only student-athlete from the Southland Conference named to the first team. Southeastern and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi had two players each named honorable mention.
The South Region is made up of universities from Louisiana, Texas, Kentucky, Arkansas, Alabama, Tennessee, and Virginia.
There are 14 All-Region team members and additional honorable mention selections for each of the 10 regions.
The more than 200 student-athletes who made All-Region represent 103 difference schools.
Tillman, the junior from Sugar Land, Texas who was named the Southland's "Libero of the Year" and All-Southland first team, led the team, the Southland and ranks 7th in the nation with 608 digs for an average of 5.20 per set including a career high 34 against Northwestern State. Tillman was named SLC Defensive "Player of the Week" four times this season and recorded double figure digs in 24 matches and 30 or more digs in two matches. Tillman picked up her 1,000
th career digs against Nicholls this season and ended her junior campaign ranked 7
th on McNeese's all-time career digs list with 1,367.
