LAFAYETTE—McNeese women's tennis team suffered its second loss of the season Thursday in a 5-2 loss at UL-Lafayette to fall to 7-2 on the year.
McNeese fell behind 1-0 after losing the doubles points. The Cajuns increased its lead to 4-0 by winning the No. 5, 3, and 4 singles.
Maria Wang Martinez notched the Cowgirls' first point of the match with her 6-3, 6-4 win over Laure-Line Monnoyer to improve to 8-1 on the season.
The other Cowgirl point came at the No. 1 singles where
Emma-Lou Pommiers defeated Lucie Raquin in a three-set tiebreaker, 6-3, 5-7, 1-0 (15-13) to improve to 5-1.
McNeese will return home Friday to host Dillard in a 2:30 p.m. match at the Nancy Hank Tennis Center.
