LAKE CHARLES—McNeese softball will host Northwestern State in a Southland Conference series on Thursday and Friday with the series beginning with a single game at 6 p.m. Thursday. The series will conclude with a 1 p.m. doubleheader on Friday.

McNeese (26-11, 9-0 SLC) is coming off a 7-0 home loss to UL-Lafayette on Tuesday that snapped its seven-game winning streak. The Cowgirls enter the weekend undefeated in league play after series wins against Texas A&M-Commerce, Incarnate Word, and Lamar. The Cowgirls have shutouts in six of their nine conference games and four of the nine wins have been run-rule wins.

Alayis Seneca continues to lead McNeese at the plate with a .371 average, 36 hits, and 20 runs scored. In league play, the Cowgirls have four of the top five hitters with Seneca leading the way with a .560 average.Â

Rylie Bouvier has a .440 average. Â

NW State (18-15, 5-4 SLC) is coming off a series win at Houston Christian last week, picking up wins in the series opener and finale. The Lady Demons enter the weekend with a .277 team batting average with Makenzie Chaffin leading the way with a .351 average and three home runs. Keely Dubois is batting .330, with 31 hits, and has a team high 11 doubles. Laney Roos is tied for a team high with 34 hits and has a .321 average.
