LAKE CHARLES—Due to expected rain in the Lake Area in the next few days, McNeese women's tennis has altered its final three home matches.
The Cowgirls will now play Lamar at 2 p.m. on Monday, April 10, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 12, and Incarnate Word at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 15.
McNeese (13-3, 3-1 SLC) is currently in a second-place tie in the league standings with UIW. Texas A&M-Commerce leads the league with a 4-0 record while Lamar is in fourth place at 2-1 in league matches.
Maria Wang Martinez who leads the conference with 15 wins (15-1) is also one of three players undefeated in league play at 4-0. The other two players are Valeria Cherfus and Victoire Delattre from Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. Like Martinez, Delattre is also the No. 5 singles player for the Islanders.
The Cowgirls' No. 1 doubles team of
Tiana Fox and
Emma-Lou Pommiers is tied for second in the SLC with a 3-1 record.
