LAKE CHARLES – McNeese Cowboys basketball coach Will Wade has announced the signing of graduate transfer guard Cam Jones out of South Carolina State.
The 6-6, 190-pound Memphis native will have two seasons of eligibility remaining.
"Cam is a long athlete who can really shoot the ball," said Wade. "You can never have enough shooting and Cam will really help us in this area. He also has the prototypical body type for our aggressive switching defense. We are very excited to welcome Cam to McNeese!"
In two seasons at South Carolina State, Jones appeared in 37 games and made 33 starts. He averaged 9.1 points, 4.2 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game last season. In addition, he scored double figures 13 times with a high of 21 points at Longwood.
Prior to SC State, Jones played at Jackson State where he saw action in 20 games, making three starts as a redshirt freshman.
An All-State, All-Region and All-District player at Whitehaven High School in Memphis, he was a two-time team MVP and four-time state tournament MVP.
