LAKE CHARLES – The Southland Conference released the 2023-24 men's and women's league schedules on Tuesday, a slate that will see a different setup from year's past.
It will be a new format for league games this season as the men's conference schedule will take place on
Saturday and Monday while women's contests will be played on Thursday and Saturday. Similar to last season, the final regular season games will take place on Wednesday, March 6 for both the men and women.
The league will kick things off on Tuesday, October 10 with the Southland Conference Basketball Media Days, scheduled to take place in the Lake Charles area, with all 20 coaches between the men's and women's side present.
The Cowgirls will begin conference play on Thursday, January 4 at Northwestern State then will visit Texas A&M-Commerce on Saturday, Jan. 6 in a double-header with the Cowboys, which will be their league opener.
Saturday home double-headers will be on Jan. 13 vs. Southeastern Louisiana, Jan. 27 vs. New Orleans, Feb. 10 vs. A&M-Corpus Christi, Feb. 24 vs. Incarnate Word and March 2 vs. Nicholls.
