SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Looking to rebound after a season-opening loss, the McNeese soccer program (0-1-0) continues its road trip against UTSA (1-0-0) Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. at the West Park Athletics Complex.
"UTSA is a team that looks to pressure the ball over the field and they play a physical, direct style," said head coach
Drew Fitzgerald. "It's another great opportunity to play a high-level program and we are excited about the challenge."
The meeting between the teams is the first since 2014 as Fitzgerald and UTSA's Derek Pittman meet for the first time as head coaches.
McNeese is coming off a loss to Texas State on Thursday where the team saw its lone goal scored by senior
Rachel Young. The team held off the Bobcats for 70 minutes and had the lead for nearly 30 before Texas State scored three goals within just over three minutes.

- Both teams have historically been evenly matched with the all-time record tied at 4-4-1.
