LAKE CHARLES- McNeese volleyball, one of two undefeated teams in Southland Conference action will carry its and riding a three-match winning streak, will look to carry that momentum into the weekend when the Cowgirls travel to Incarnate Word on Thursday and then at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Saturday.  Both matches will broadcast on ESPN+.
 
McNeese (5-11, 3-0 SLC) is coming off a its second consecutive straight set win last week with a 3-0 win over Nicholls Tuesday night.
 
The Cowgirls recorded a season best .331 hitting percent against the Colonels and placed three players in double figure kills.  Junior Bailey Tillman also had a huge night, picking up her 1,000th career dig and ended the match with 23 but only needed 17 to reach the milestone.
 
Setter Emma Hendricks ran the Cowgirl offense, distributing the ball to several Cowgirls including Kayla Wilson who led all players with 12 kills.  McKenzie Moore and Carissa Chainey collected 11 kills apiece.  Hendricks ended the match with 41 assists, her second match with 40 or more assists since replacing Megan Grose who is sidelined due to an injury.
 
Incarnate Word (8-7, 0-3 SLC) will look for its first not only its first conference win of the season but the Cardinals have yet to win a set in league play.  IUW is coming off a straight set loss to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Tuesday night.
 
The Cowgirls will conclude its week at Texas A&M Corpus-Christi (7-8. 2-1 SLC) Saturday afternoon.  The Islanders enter Thursday's match against Houston Christian with a 7-8 overall record and 2-1 in the SLC after its win over UIW Tuesday.
 
McNEESE NOTES
• are one of two undefeated teams in the SLC heading into to weekend.  Houston Christian is also 3-0
• have won its last three matches including a non-conference win over UL-Monroe on Tuesday
• have only lost one set in last three matches
• will be the second and third matches for the Cowgirls this week
• have defeated UIW in the last four meetings
• Texas A&M-Corpus Christi has won 18 of the last 19 matches against the Cowgirls.  The two teams split its matches last season, which both went five sets. McNeese defeated the Islanders 3-2 in Lake Charles.  The win was the first McNeese win over A&M-CC since the 2010 season.
• McNeese leads the SLC with a .307 team hitting percent, 2.78 service aces per set and 19.67 points per set in conference matches.
• The Cowgirls rank second in the SLC with 14.67 assists and 15.44 kills and rank third with 17.22 digs per set in conference matches.
