LAKE CHALRES-- After playing on the road for the first two weeks of the season, McNeese volleyball returns home for its next four matches beginning with its home opener against Southern at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 5 at the Legacy Center. The Cowgirls will remain home to host its McNeese Invitational set for Friday and Saturday.
McNeese (0-6) will look to pick up its first win of the season after a first two weeks that saw the Cowgirls playing two Top 20 teams and a challenging tournament field at the Auburn War Eagle Invitational to open the season.
Southern (0-1) enters the match following its season opening match at Dillard on Aug. 29. McNeese holds a 3-0 all-time record against the Jaguars with the last meeting between the two teams being held in 2018 in Lake Charles.
Junior Clarissa Chainey leads the Cowgirls in kills (54) and is second on the team in digs (48), and blocks (9).
Bailey Tillman tops the team with 68 digs and
Megan Grose has a team high of 116 assists.
The Cowgirl Invitational field will consist of Southeast Missouri, Jackson State, and Sam Houston State. The action will begin at 10:30 a.m. Friday with Southeast Missouri facing Jackson State.
