LAKE CHARLES—McNeese volleyball will host its own invitational this weekend at the Legacy Center with the tournament field consisting of Southeast Missouri, Jackson State, and Sam Houston.  The tournament will consist of three matches Friday and three on Saturday with the first match set for 10:30 a.m. both days.  Admission is free to all tournament matches as well as all Cowgirl home matches.
 
The last time McNeese hosted a tournament was in 2019 when it hosted a round robin tournament with Grambling and UL-Monroe.
 
McNeese (1-6) will look to build off its first win of the season after defeating Southern in straight sets on Tuesday.  The Cowgirls will face Southeast Missouri at 6:30 p.m. Friday in its only match of the days.  McNeese will take on Jackson State at 1 p.m. Saturday and will close out the tournament with a 6:30 p.m. match against Sam Houston.
 
Junior Carissa Chainey continues to lead the Cowgirls with 64 kills and is second on the team with 56 digs and 11 blocks.  McKenzie Moore has a team high 17 blocks and seven aces.  Bailey Tillman leads with 79 digs and Megan Grose has dished out a team best 153 assists.
