LAKE CHARLES – Another first for the McNeese Cowboys basketball team when on Monday, the team received a vote in the Associated Press Top 25 Men's Basketball Poll marking the first time in school history that has every occurred.
The Cowboys host Lamar at 7 p.m. on Monday night and will carry the nation's 4
th-longest winning streak at nine games as they attempt to improve on their 14-2 record while taking over sole possession of first place in the league.
Monday night's game, which is "The Battle of the Border," will be a great escape from the outside cold as the Cowboys and Cardinals will be battling as league unbeaten foes for the first time in the history of the series.
Fans will be treated to $1 draft beers while The Frosty Factory will be set up for Margarita Monday.
The first 125 students will receive a free t-shirt when entering and will be encouraged to stand and make noise the entire game and cheer on the Cowboys.
Following Monday's game, McNeese will hit the road for the next two when it visits UIW on Saturday and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi next Monday in a game that will carry a national televised broadcast on ESPNU.
