SAN ANTONIO, Texas—McNeese's
Emilia Tenbrock scored her 1,000
th career point on the Cowgirls' first two points of the game but for the second straight game, the Cowgirls' offense struggled in the second half in a 67-55 road loss to Incarnate Word Saturday.
The loss drops McNeese to 4-15 overall and 0-6 in the SLC while UIW improves to 9-7 overall and 3-3 in the SLC with the win.
Tenbrock once again led all players in scoring with 22 points, her fifth straight game and 11 out of last 12 games scoring in double figures. She ended the game 8 of 16 from the field with two three-pointers and made all four free throws.
Alva Mofalk chipped in with 11 points and
Azjah Reeves added 10 points.
McNeese held a 29-27 halftime lead but UIW's defense intensified in the second half and the Cowgirls offense struggled to score 26 points while UIW scored 40 in the half.
UIW stretched its lead to 10 points early in the fourth quarter but five straight points by
Alva Mofalk pulled McNeese to within five points (56-51) with 7:12 left in the game.
The Cardinals went on to outscore the Cowgirls 11-4 the rest of the way.
McNeese shot 37.5 percent (9-24) in the second half and ended the game with a 40.0 field goal percent.
UIW shot 48.3 percent (14-29) in the second half and 39.1 percent for the game. The Cardinals held a 40-30 rebound margin including 18 offensive rebounds that led to 25 second chance points. UIW forced McNeese into 13 turnovers and turned those turnovers into 241 points along with 34 points in the paint.
1st Quarter

• UIW scored the first three points of the game before McNeese went on a 7-0 run to take a 7-3 lead

• McNeese led by as many as 10 points midway through the quarter, but IUW went on an 8-1 run to pull to within three points (21-18)
• UIW tied the game at 27 with 1:19 left in the quarter
• Reeves' layup with 1:01 left in the quarter gave the Cowgirls a 29-27 halftime lead
• Tenbrock scored 14 first half points
• 11 of UIW's 21 rebounds were on the offensive end
• McNeese shot 42.3 percent from the field (11-26) and 66.7 (4-6) from the free throw line in the first half
• UIW shot 31.4 percent (11-35) from the field and 75.0 percent (3-4) from the free throw line in the first half
• McNeese had seven first half turnovers and UIW had five points 38-33
• UIW went on a 7-0 run to take a 41-38 lead, their first lead since leading 10-9 in the first quarter
• McNeese went on a 5-0 run and pulled to within three points (48-45) on a three-pointer by
Alva Mofalk with 2:32 left
3rd Quarter
• Cowgirls open the second half by scoring the first four points to lead 33-27
• UIW cut the lead to two points but a three-pointer by Reeves put the lead back to five points
• A 15-2 scoring run by UIW put the Cardinals up by six points (48-40) with 3:30 left in the quarter
• UIW outscored McNeese 25-17 in the quarter to take a six-point lead (52-46) into the fourth quarter
4th Quarter
• UIW picked up where they left off in the third quarter by going on an 8-1 run to lead 56-49

Alva Mofalk scored five straight points to pull the Cowgirls to within five (56-51)
• McNeese had two chances to pull to within two points on two three-point misses by Tenbrock and Mofalk
• Since trailing by five points, McNeese was outscored 11-4 the rest of the game
