VB: Cowgirls Conclude Home Stand Tuesday Against Nicholls

LAKE CHARLES—McNeese volleyball (5-10, 1-2 SLC) fresh off its first Southland Conference win of the season against New Orleans last Saturday, will kick off a three-match week with a 6:30 p.m. home contest against Nicholls (6-8, 1-2 SLC) in the final of three straight home matches for the Cowgirls.
 
Prior to Tuesday's match, Bailey Tillman will be recognized in an early senior day recognition.  Bailey's father, Spencer is a college football analyst who won't be present for the actual Senior Day on Saturday, Nov. 16 due to his work schedule.
 
The Cowgirls, who played Southeastern and New Orleans in Lake Charles last week, will travel to both places this week.  McNeese will travel to New Orleans on Thursday, Oct. 3 (6:30 p.m.) and Southeastern at 12 p.m. Saturday.
 
MATCH NOTES
• It's the final of three straight home matches
• It's the first of three matches for the Cowgirls this week.  They will travel to Nicholls on Thursday and Southeastern on Saturday.
• Senior Bailey Tillman will be recognized with her father prior to the match due her father not being able to attend actual senior day on Nov. 16 due to his work schedule
• Cowgirls enter the match following its first conference win of the season, a straight set home win over New Orleans Saturday that snapped a five-match losing streak
• McNeese ended Saturday's match with a .427 hitting percent including a season low nine hitting errors
• McKenzie Moore and Megan Grose both recorded double doubles on Saturday. Moore ended the match with a .522 hitting percent on 12 kills in 23 attempts without committing a hitting error and 14 digs.  Grose also had a good day on offense, ending with a .400 hitting percent (10 kills, 2 errors, 20 attempts along with 17 assists).
• Lacie Schooley dished out a career high 17 assists and tied Grose for a match high
• McNeese has been hit with the injury bug this season.  Taylor Thomas, Emareee Harris, and Kayla Wilson will miss the rest of the season due to injuries.
• Senior McKenzie Moore continues to lead the team with 224 kills.  Moore is also second on the team with 36 blocks and third with 1384 digs.
• Megan Grose leads McNeese with 296 assists
• Lacie Schooley leads the team with 11 aces
• Naterah Moore leads the Cowgirls with 48 blocks
• Bailey Tillman has a team best 232 digs and moved into fourth place in McNeese career digs at Texas A&M-Commerce.  Tillman enters tonight's match with 1,599, needing 103 to move into third place.
 
ABOUT NICHOLLS
• Picked to finish 12th in the preseason poll
• Nicholls enters the match having snapped a three-match losing streak with a 3-0 win over UNO last Thursday for its first conference win of the season.
• The Colonels' conference losses have been against HCU (3-1) and Northwestern State (3-0)
