FRISCO, Texas – McNeese's
Sincere Parker has been named this week's Southland Conference Player of the Week after a stellar week where he averaged over 20 points a game while leading the Cowboys to a 3-0 mark.
A native of Rockford, Ill. and in his first season with the Cowboys, Parker averaged 20.7 points in the three games on the week, scoring 18 in a win over North Texas last Monday, 13 vs. Illinois State in the first round of the Paradise Jam on Friday, then a 31-point outing in a win over Longwood on Sunday in the semifinals.
It was his fourth-career, 30-point scoring game and the first for any Cowboy this season.
In addition, he connected on 57 percent of his shots from the field (20 for 35), 3 for 14 from three-point range and 19 of 22 at the free throw line.
On the season, Parker is ranked second in the conference in scoring (17.7 ppg) and total field goals made (37), and his third in field goal percentage (.544).
McNeese will look to capture the Paradise Jam Tournament Championship on Monday night when it plays Liberty at 7 p.m. CT. The game will broadcast live on ESPN+.
Following that, the Cowboys will return home on December 3 when they host Santa Clara.
