LAKE CHARLES—McNeese women's basketball (3-3), will host Division III St. Thomas (Houston, Texas) in a pre-Thanksgiving Day contest beginning at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27.  The Celts enter the game with a 2-1 record.
 
The Cowgirls will look to snap a three-game losing streak following road losses at Utah and BYU last week and a home loss against Utah Tech on Saturday.
 
Senior Mireia Yespes leads the Cowgirls in scoring (11.0 ppg.) and rebounds (5.5 rpg.).  Kiayra Ellis is averaging 9.2 ppg. while Lyla Kahrimanovic is coming off the bench to average 8.8 ppg. and 4.3 rpg.  Ellis is shooting 54.5 percent from 3-point range having made 6 of 11 attempts.  Kyla Davis has a team high 11 treys on the year.  Tyrielle Williams is dishing out a team high 3.7 assists per contest.
 
Joerdan Thomas leads the Celts in scoring with 12.3 ppg. while Kenna Gibson and Macie Whitfield lead the team in rebounds with 5.7 rpg.
 
St. Thomas is coming off an 80-51 loss at Hardin Simmons and most recently an exhibition 86-48 loss at Sam Houston.
 
Following the game, the Cowgirls will break for the Thanksgiving Holiday and will return to action Dec. 6-8 by taking part in the Shirley Duncan Classic (Farmville,VA.) hosted by Longwood.  The Cowgirls will return home Dec. 21 to host Southeastern in its Southland Conference opener.
