LAKE CHARLES—McNeese women's basketball (5-6, 0-0 SLC) will host Southeastern (7-3, 1-0 SLC) Saturday in its Southland Conference opener. Tipoff is set for 1 p.m. at the Legacy Center. The game will be streamed on ESPN+ and it will be the final game before the Cowgirls break for the holidays.

The Cowgirls, who were picked to finish 11
th in the preseason poll, will look to snap a two-game losing streak following its 92-41 road loss at Oklahoma State Monday night in a game the Cowgirls were without five players including two starters.

Paris Guillory, who made her McNeese debut against Longwood on Dec. 8, will make her home debut Saturday. Guillory led the Cowgirls in scoring in the past two games, coming off the bench to score 12 points against Longwood and 15 against Oklahoma State. She enters the game averaging 13.5 ppg.

Mireia Yespes is averaging leads the team with 6.7 rpg. and is averaging 9.3 ppg.

McNeese will enter the game ranked 10
th in bench points, averaging 34.9 ppg.

Southeastern, who has won six of their last eight games, is one of 10 Southland schools to already have played at least one conference game. The Lady Lions are coming off a Southland opening 58-54 road win at Nicholls Wednesday. The Lady Lions were picked to finish second behind Lamar in the preseason poll.

Alexius Horne is the only Lady Lion averaging in double figures (14.2 ppg.) while Nicholls transfer Lexi Alexander leads the team with 7.4 rpg.
