Cowboys fall to Aggies in series finale

BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION, Texas - In the series finale, McNeese's baseball program (0-3) fell to Texas A&M (3-0) 10-0 Sunday afternoon as the Aggies earned the victory at Blue Bell Park Sunday afternoon.

"It was a tough weekend all around," said head coach Justin Hill. "Looking forward to opening up at home on Tuesday."

The Cowboys earned six hits in the performance with five batters earning at least one hit against the Aggies. Redshirt senior Chase Keeton hit the best behind the plate in the blue and gold with two hits in three at-bats, the first of the two coming as a double in the top of the first.

Further earning hits for McNeese were redshirt sophomore Braley Hollins, senior Braden Duhon, junior Simon Larranaga, and classmate Connor Schneider. Schneider stole claimed the team's lone stolen base in the third inning by taking second.

Five pitchers took to the mound with junior Alexis Gravel making the start and pitching two complete innings. He struck out three batters before JT Moeller, a senior, came in relief for 3.0 innings, the longest outing for the team. After earning four strikeouts, classmate Brock Barthelemy took the ball from his grasp for three strikeouts against five batters. Marcus Mott (redshirt junior) and David Carr (senior) closed out the game for the Cowboys.

Duhon concluded the weekend with four hits in 12 plate appearances for a .333 average to lead the team. Keeton and Hollins each own three hits to their credit just behind Duhon.
