HUNTSVILLE, Texas—McNeese women's tennis got off to the best start in program history improving to 9-1 and extended its winning streak to seven matches Sunday afternoon with a 5-2 win at Sam Houston.
It took a tiebreaker 7-6, 7-4 win by the Cowgirls'
Arina Gamretkaia Anastasija Adeikyte at the no. 1 doubles to win the doubles point for the early 1-0 lead. The no. 3 doubles of
Tiana Fox and
Aina Domingo-Bernabeu also picked up a 7-5 doubles win.
The Cowgirls picked up four of the six singles matches to close out the match with a 5-2 win.
Arina Gameretkaia, Domingo-Bernabeu,
Anastasija Adeikyte and
Emma-Lou Pommiers all picked up singles wins.
McNeese will travel to Stephen F. Austin this Friday for a 1 p.m. match before ending their weekend with a 1 p.m. match at Southern on Saturday.
