LAKE CHARLES – McNeese softball, who received votes for the third straight week in the ESPN.com/USA Softball Collegiate Top 25 Poll, will travel to Houston, Texas Wednesday to face the Houston Cougars in its first road contest this season. The game will be streamed on ESPN+ and is the first of two against the Cougars this season. Houston will visit Lake Charles next Wednesday, March 6.
McNeese (10-4) will carry a five-game winning streak into Wednesday game and are coming off a 4-0 record last week that includes a 4-1 win over Boise State. The Cowgirls posted a 3-0 record at its Cowgirl Classic II to end the week with two run-rule wins over Niagara and a shutout win over North Dakota.
Houston (12-4), in its first season as a member of the BIG 12 conference is coming off a 2-3 record at the LSU Tiger Classic last weekend with its wins coming against Austin Peay.
