LAKE CHARLES—McNeese beach volleyball, coming off its first wins in its inaugural season last weekend at its own Cowgirl Beach Bash, will travel to Nacogdoches, Texas this weekend to take part in the Stephen F. Austin Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
 
McNeese (1-3) will play Utah (2-2) at 11 a.m. and Stephen F. Austin (3-1) at 1:30 p.m. both days.  The Cowgirls picked up their first win of the season over Tarleton State in a 4-1 victory last Friday.
 
The Cowgirls no. 1 pair (Carissa Chainey/Gracey Janes) and no. 4 pair (Jolie Savoie/Nadia Manitzas) both opened the season with a 2-1 record with both pairs picking up their wins against Tarleton State and Nicholls.
 
Utah opened its season with both its wins coming against Pacific and its losses were to UC Davis.  SFA opened its season at the Tulane Tournament last weekend and picked up wins against Oregon, Spring Hill College, and New Orleans.  It's loss was against Tulane.
