LAFAYETTE, La. - McNeese Baseball (9-9, 0-0 SLC) fought valiantly against UL-Lafayette (13-8, 2-1 SBC) in a 4-1 loss on the road Wednesday night at M.L. "Tigue" Moore Field at Russo Park.

Cooper Hext was given a fielder's choice as the Ragin' Cajuns earned an out at home to stave off the Cowboys' attack.
Chase Keeton, a redshirt senior, patiently earned a walk in the next at-bat to bring in the run for the Pokes, tying it up late.
McNeese held the Ragin' Cajuns scoreless through four innings before permitting a run in the bottom of the fifth as the latter took the lead. UL-Lafayette regained the lead in the bottom of the eighth when they scored three runs earn the victory.
Alexis Gravel made his fifth start of his junior campaign for the Pokes, striking out four batters, three consecutive, over the course of three innings, allowing just one hit. Redshirt senior
