LAKE CHARLES, La. – In the second game of the weekend series, McNeese Baseball (16-17, 2-6 SLC) fell to UIW (19-14, 4-4 SLC) 10-3 at Joe Miller Ballpark Saturday afternoon.
 
McNeese plated its first two runs of the ballgame in the bottom of the sixth on a two-run homer by senior Cooper Hext to bring home redshirt freshman Easton Dowell who waited on third.
 
Late in the game, redshirt senior Chase Keeton plated the third and final run for the Cowboys with a solo shot over the left-field wall.
 
After being held scoreless through four innings, the Cardinals scored six runs in the fifth followed by three in the sixth and one in the seventh.
 
Hext tallied his third home run of the season, also claiming his sixth multi-RBI performance on the season with two. Keeton's home run was his fourth of the year and second straight game with a hit. The home runs were the third and fourth of the series with two coming in Friday night's outing.

Junior Simon Larranaga marked his second consecutive game with multiple hits, recording two in both Friday and Saturday's games, scoring a run in the former.
 
McNeese and UIW close out the series Sunday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. at Joe Miller Ballpark before looking toward midweek action.
