WBB: Kennedy Announces Three Transfers To Join Cowgirls For 2024-25 Season

LAKE CHARLES—McNeese head women's basketball coach Lynn Kennedy has announced the addition of three transfers, all of which are Louisiana natives.
 
The transfers include former St. Louis High standout Paris Guillory, and New Orleans natives Bre' Sutton (Warren Easton High) and Tyrielle Williams (Ursuline Academy).
 
Guillory returns to Lake Charles following a season at Louisiana Tech where she played in 22 games and averaged 6.1 ppg., 2.1 rpg and was credited with 11.0 apg. Guillory earned a spot on the CUSA All-Freshman Team and was second on the team with an impressive 38.7 shooting percentage from beyond the arc, while shooting 41.3 percent from the field. She was also named conference freshman of the week twice.
 
While at St. Louis, Guillory helped the Lady Saints to back-to-back state championships and was named LHSAA 3A State MVP.  She averaged 18.6 ppg., 6.1 assists, and 5.0 steals per game her senior campaign. Guillory also earned first-team all-district and district MVP honors, All-SWLA, SWLA MVP, SWLA All-State honors, American Press Player of the Year and was ranked as the No. 2 player in the state of Louisiana by the Louisiana Girls' Report.
 
"Paris is a do it all guard that can play multiple positions and get it done on both ends of the court", said Kennedy. "It is so great have her home in Lake Charles where I know she will continue to grow as a player on and off the court."
 
Sutton comes to McNeese from Arkansas State where she played one season.  Prior to her stint at Arkansas State, Sutton played two seasons at Louisiana-Monroe.
 
Sutton made significant contributions during her time at ULM and Arkansas State. With 59 games under her belt, including 30 starts, Sutton averaged nearly 22 minutes per game. Notable breakout stretches during the 2022-2023 season, she averages of 12.0 ppg. and 7.0 rpg. in a five-game stretch, and 14.0 ppg. with 3.0 spg. in a four-game stretch.
 
As a team captain and four-year letter winner at Warren Easton High School, Sutton was ranked as the No. 7 overall player in the state for the Class of 2021 by Louisiana Girls Rankings, averaging 15.0 points per game.
Sutton's is a four-time All-Metro, All-District, and All-State selection, which includes two state championships and an appearance in the Louisiana All-Star game.

Williams, a South Alabama transfer who played at total of 57 games and averaged 17.9 ppg., 17 rpg., and 1.7 apg.  As a freshman for the Jaguars, Williams came off the bench to score a career-high 14 points against Coastal Carolina and ended the season with a 33.6 field goal percent.  As a sophomore, she appeared in two games before a season ending injury. This season as a redshirt sophomore, Williams played in 30 games, averaging 2.5 ppg., 1.1 rpg. and dished out 46 assists.  She shot 31.8 percent from the field, 30.6 from three-point range and 76.7 percent from the free throw line.
A McDonald's All-American nominee while at Ursuline Academy, Williams completed her high school career scoring over 1,000 points and 500 assists.  She led the Lions to a berth in the semifinals of the state Division II Tournament twice and a state championship as a freshman.  As a senior, Williams was named first team all-state twice and a four-time all-district selection.  averaged 20.0 ppg., 7.0 rpg., 5.0 apg., and 3.0 spg. as a senior.
"Ty is a dynamic guard who can score at all three levels. She is a lock down defender. Ty brings valuable experience playing in the Sun Belt Conference and really elevated her game this past season."
