Box Score SAN ANTONIO, Texas—McNeese women's tennis advanced to its third Southland Conference Tournament Championship match in program history and the first since 2018 with its 4-2 win over No. 6 seed Northwestern State Saturday.
 
The Cowgirls (20-3) will face regular season champion and the tournament's No. 1 seed Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (22-2) at 10 a.m. with the winner advancing to the NCAA Tournament.  The match will be streamed live on ESPN+.
 
Northwestern State took the early lead by winning the doubles point but the Cowgirls evened the match quickly to begin singles play when NW State's No. 6 singles player Paige Wise withdrew giving Ariane Monlleo Sanchis the win.
 
Aina Domingo-Bernabeu gave McNeese the lead for good with her straight set win over Maria Farina at flight 2.  A straight set win by Anastasija Adeikyte put the Cowgirls up 3-1.  NW State picked up the next point to cut the lead to 3-2 but Arina Gamretkaia sealed the match win with her 6-4, 7-5 flight 1 win over Tjasa Klevisar.
 
McNeese will look to win its second Southland Conference Tournament Championship in program history Sunday.  The 2018 team won the first SLC Women's Tournament Championship under head coach Helen Besovic.
