WTEN: Carlson Announces Signing Of Toffee Ghorab

LAKE CHARLES—McNeese first year head women's tennis coach Sonia Carlson has announced the signing of Toffee Ghorab, Carlson's first signee as the Cowgirls head coach.
 
"I am thrilled to welcome Toffee to our team," Carlson said. "As my first recruit at McNeese, I wanted someone exceptional, and we connected instantly from our first conversation.  She is an outstanding student and a fierce competitor.  I can't wait to see all that she will achieve as a student-athlete at McNeese."
 
Ghorab is a native of Cairo, Egypt who comes to McNeese with several accolades including a No. 1 singles ranking in Africa and Egypt as well as World Cup experience.  She led the Egyptian team to victory in the World Cup Qualifications as well as the African Championships title with the national team in Egypt.
 
Other victories garnered by Ghorab was the Zimbabwe (CAT/ITF) in singles action and the Zimbabwe (CAT/ITF) and Kenya (CAT/ITF) in doubles play.
