Cowgirls drop exhibition to Texans

LAKE CHARLES, La. – McNeese Soccer fell 1-0 to Tarleton State on a late goal in the lone exhibition of the 2024 campaign in a three-period battle Sunday night at Cowgirl Field.

The Pitch Side:
• McNeese attempted nine shots with four on goal during the match.
• Jackie Kelly (senior) saw 60 minutes of action in the net, allowing the lone goal of the night with freshman Shannon Dempsey earning net time.
• Five freshmen started the match for the Pokes.
• Eleven newcomers played on the pitch for the first time donning the gold.
• Those taking a shot on goal were Dom Ducal (junior), Morgan Fiedler (sophomore), Ellis Hosch (sophomore), and Salma Elhaimer (junior).
• Elhaimer attempted the most shots with three for the Pokes.
 
How It Happened:
