McNeese falls 52-10 to Texas A&M

Box Score COLLEGE STATION – Texas A&M built a 38-0 halftime lead but McNeese never quit and played a more competitive second half in a 52-10 loss in front of 92,345 at Kyle Field Saturday.
 
McNeese (1-2) put together two impressive second half scoring drives, the first going for 19-plays and 75-yards, taking 10:30 off the clock that ended with a Kamden Sixkiller 10-yard touchdown pass to Jalen Wright. That cut the Texas A&M lead to 45-7.
 
After the Aggies responded with a 65-yard TD run by Terry Bussey increased the lead to 52-7 with 10:06 to play, McNeese used the remaining clock to pound out an 11-play, 89-yard drive that was finished off with a 26-yard field goal by Tyler Larco on the game's final play and making it 52-10.
 
The Cowboys finished the day with 279 total offensive yards – 180 rushing and 185 passing. Sixkiller completed 11 of 21 passes for 80 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions, both of no fault of his own as the first came off a dropped pass and the second being hit in the trenches while throwing.
 
Alex Flores saw action for the first time this season and completed both of his passes for 19 yards.
 
Bryce Strong led the running game with 64 yards as 47 of those came on one rush while Trevonte Citizen added 59 yards on 14 carries.
 
Conner Weigman completed 11 of 14 passes for 125 yards and two TDs for the Aggies while Le'Veon Moss rushed for 84 yards on nine rushes and scored two touchdowns.
 
McNeese will be back in action next Saturday when it opens Southland Conference play at home against Stephen F. Austin.
