WBB: Cowgirls and Ladyjacks Reunite On The Hardwood Thursday Night

LAKE CHARLES—McNeese women's basketball (7-9, 2-3 SLC) and Stephen F. Austin (13-4, 3-3 SLC) will reunite on the hardwood Thursday night for the first time since 2019 in a Southland Conference game at the Legacy Center.  Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. with the game being streamed on ESPN+.   
 
The game will mark the second of three straight home games for the Cowgirls who hosted Nicholls last Thursday and will conclude the homestand with a 1 p.m. game against Lamar this Saturday.
 
McNeese enters the game in eighth place in the league standings while the Ladyjacks who were picked to finish fourth in the preseason poll, enter the game tied for fifth place.
 
Sophomore Paris Guillory continues to lead the Cowgirls in scoring (16.3 ppg.) while senior Mireia Yespes is pulling down a team high 7.7 rpg., and Ty Williams is dishing out 3.1 apg.
 
The Ladyjacks enter the game ranked fourth in the nation with a 38.9 three-point field goal shooting percent and ninth overall with a 48.4 field goal percent. 
 
Avery Vansickle leads the conference and ranks second in the nation with a 51.1 three-point field goal shooting percent.  Vansickle has made 45 three-pointers and Harmanie Dominguez has made 42 on the year. 
 
The Ladyjacks have four players averaging in double figures.  Faith Blackstone leads the team with 15.6 ppg. and 6.1 rpg.
