LAKE CHARLES—McNeese volleyball nearly pulled off the upset of the year Saturday in a 3-2 (25-22, 19-25, 25-23, 12-15, 11-15) loss at league leading Stephen F. Austin. It's the first time since 2015 that the Cowgirls push SFA to a five-set match. The Ladyjacks either defeated McNeese in straight sets or won the match in four since 2015.
McNeese (6-18, 2-10 SLC) was led by
D'Nari Mills who ended the match with her sixth double-double of the season with 13 kills and 17 digs.
Kayla Wilson was the only other Cowgirl to record double figure kills with 11.
SFA (16-7, 11-1 SLC) was led by Kennedy Jones' match high 21 kills.
McNees will return home next Wednesday, Nov. 5 to host Nicholls in the first of its final three home matches of the season.
