WBB: Alexander Records Double Double In Win Over LSUA

LAKE CHARLES—Lexi Alexander recorded a double double and McNeese women's basketball placed six players in double figures here Saturday in its 106-33 win over LSU-Alexandria in the final home game for the Cowgirls until its Southland opener on Dec. 12. 
 
The 100-point game is the second of the season for the Cowgirls who scored 100 points in its season opener against Pensacola Christian College.
 
McNeese (3-1) was led in scoring by Tyreona Sibley's game high 17 points.  Arianna Patton chipped in with 15 points while Lexi Alexander ended the game with her first double double of the season by scoring 14 points and grabbing a game high 10 rebounds.  Avari Berry came off the bench to score 11 points while dishing out eight assists.  Dakota Howard and Carli Hamilton both ended the game with 10 points apiece.
 
The Cowgirls took control from the opening tip and led 55-23 at the half.  McNeese's defense came out in the second half and held the Generals (1-5) to just one point in the third quarter while the Cowgirls offense scored 25 points to lead 80-24.
 
Hamilton's first of two free throws with 1:58 left in the game was the point that hit the century mark for the Cowgirls.
 
Of the 106 points, 56 were scored in the paint and 43 were scored off 42 LSUA turnovers. 
 
McNeese ended the game shooting 48.8 percent while holding LSUA to a 22.8 field goal percent.
 
The Cowgirls will return to action next Monday, Nov. 24 to face No. 23 West Virginia at the Baha Mar Hoops Pink Flamingo Championship in Nassau, Bahamas.
 
 McNEESE NOTES
• The 106 points is the second time McNeese scores over 100 points.  Both 100+ point games were home games.
• For the first time this season, six Cowgirls scored in double figures
Tyreona Sibley scored a career high 17 points and picked up a career high five steals.
Avari Berry dished out a career high eight assists
Carley Hamilton scored a career high 10 points
