NASSAU, Bahamas—McNeese women's basketball will begin play at the Baha Mar Hoops Pink Flamingo Championship on Monday, Nov. 24 at 12:30 p.m. (CT) against No. 23 West Virginia (5-0). All tournament games will stream on FloCollege.Â
The Cowgirls and Mountaineers are two of the four teams that will make up the Goombay Division. Ohio State and Belmont are the other two teams in this Division. The championship game is slated for 12:30 p.m. (CT) on Wednesday, Nov. 26 with the consolation game scheduled for 10 a.m. (CT).
The Cowgirls head into the tournament with a 3-1 record following its 106-33 home win over LSUA on Saturday.
West Virginia is coming off an 80-51 home win over Appalachian State on Thursday. Â
McNEESE NOTES
• McNeese will face No. 23 West Virginia in its opening game of the Baha Mar Pink Flamingo Championship on Monday, Nov. 24.
• Depending on the outcome of Monday's game, McNeese will either play Ohio State or Belmont on Wednesday, Nov. 26.
• McNeese is coming off a 106-33 home over LSUA on Saturday where six Cowgirls scored in double figures.
• The 100-point game is the second time McNeese scores over 100 points. The Cowgirls also scored 100 points in their 100-38 win over Pensacola College in its season opener.
• It will be the first meeting between McNeese and West Virginia but not the first meeting between coach Guzzardo and coach Kellogg.
• West Virginia is coach by Mark Kellogg, who spent eight years as SFA's head coach. • McNeese was 0-5 against Kellogg while he was at SFA.
• Head coach
Ayla Guzzardo was 1-4 against Kellogg while she was at Southeastern and he was at SFA. Guzzardo's 2015-16 Southeastern team defeated his SFA team 65-56 on Jan. 4, 2016 in the Southland Conference opener in Hammond, La.
• For the second time this season, the Cowgirls received votes in the College Insider Top 25 Poll on Tuesday, Nov. 18.

Arianna Patton (12.0 ppg.) and
Tyreona Sibley (11.5 ppg.) are the only Cowgirls averaging in double figures.

Lexi Alexander is coming off her first double double of the season leads the team with 6.0 rpg. as does
Dakota Howard.
• Jalencia Pierre leads the team with 5.5 assist per game and is also averaging 2.5 steals per game.

• The
Ayla Guzzardo era began with a 100-38 home win over Pensacola Christian College on Monday, Nov. 3.
• McNeese has 13 newcomers, which ranks tied for fourth most in the NCAA. Three other teams (Northern Arizona, Indiana State, UL-Monroe) all have 14 newcomers.Of the 13 newcomers, nine are D1 transfers which is tied for most in the NCAA this season.
• All 13 newcomers are Guzzardo's former Southeastern players and recruitsÂ
• Guzzardo brought nine players from her 2024-25 Southeastern team and entire staff, including managers with her to McNeese.
• The 2025-26 roster consists of two-time Southland "Defensive Player of the Year" in Jalencia Pierre.
• Also on the team are two Southland "Freshmen of the Year-
Kaili Chamberlin (2022) and
Lexi Alexander (2023).
• Chamberlin began her playing career (2021-22) at McNeese and will complete her career at McNeese (2025-26).

• Will be the first meeting meeting between the two teams but not the two coaches. Both coaches met while Kellogg was at SFA.
Ohio State
• Enter the tournament with a 3-1 record with its only loss (100-68) at No. 1 UConn on Nov. 16.
• McNeese is 0-1 against Ohio State with the only game played during the 2022-23 season. Ohio State defeated McNeese 99-43 in Columbus that year.
Belmont
• Will be the first meeting between the two teams
• Enter the tournament with a 3-2 record including an 80-60 win over Lipscomb on Nov. 19.
