Javohn Garcia, who spearheaded his team's drive to the championship, was selected as the Most Valuable Player of the 2025 Cayman Islands Classic.
The all-tournament squad included four players including Garcia's Cowboy teammate,
Tyshawn Archie. Also named to the honor list were Torey Alsto
n of Middle Tennessee
, Javon Jackson of Murray State, and Rafael Castro of George Washington.
In his team's three wins, Garcia averaged 19 points per game while shooting 51.4 percent from the field and 45.4 percent from long range, hitting 5-for-11. He also knocked down 18-of-22 free throw tries for 81.8 percent. In addition, Garcia added seven rebounds seven assists and seven steals. He had games of 26, 15 and 18 points for the Cowboys.
After a slow start in the team's opening tourney game, Archie played a big role in the next two wins with 15 and 17 points. Overall, he averaged 12.0 points per game, went 6-for-6 at the free throw line, and added four rebounds, seven assists and three steals.
Middle Tennessee's all-tournament selection was Alston, who had a monster game to open the tournament, posting 26 points and 16 rebounds against Murray State. For the trio of contests in George Town, Alston averaged 15.7 points and 10.7 rebounds per game, shot 50 percent (18-for-36) from the field and added 11-of-15 (73.3 percent) at the free throw line.
Jackson, who scored the final points of the tournament with 1.2 seconds remaining in Tuesday nightcap, is Murray State's player on the all-tournament roster. His basket lifted Murray State to a one-point victory, part of a 24-point effort on 10-for-20 shooting. For the week he averaged 13 points per game, shot 83.3 percent at the free throw line (5-of-6) and also contributed seven rebounds and five assists.
The tournament's leading scorer, George Washington's Garcia finished off the all-tournament selections. He posted games of 26, 21 points and 17 points to average a tourney-best 19.3 points per game. He shot 58.6 percent (17-for-29) from the field and connected on 85.7 percent (24-for-28) at the free throw line. Garcia also contributed 21 rebounds (7.0 per game), six assists and one steal.
