BEAUMONT, Texas-  Elena Morales captured the Flight C singles title at the Joe Pyburn Memorial Tennis Tournament that was held Oct. 30-Nov. 2.  Live scoring can be viewed HERE.
 
Morales opened the tournament with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Northwestern State's Maria Farina before defeating Louisiana Tech's Maria Tsironi in the semifinals to advance to the championship match where she defeated Northwestern State's Athina Griboriadou 6-3, 6-3.
 
Naomi Hagi also had a good performance, advancing all the way to the Flight D championship match where she fell 6-3, 6-2 to Louisiana Tech's Mio Kozaki.  Hagi defeated Lamar's Vavara Popadina (6-3, 6-1) in the opening round and Southeastern's Mariam Tetradze (6-2, 6-3) in the semifinal round.   
 
In doubles, Stella Rundova and Alexa Martinez fell 6-4 to Southeastern's Aitana Darder and Taisia Bolsova in the Flight A championship match.
 
Sophomore Salome Fluri, who won the Southland Conference Individual Singles Title, will travel to the ITA Conference Masters Championships in San Diego, California that is set to begin Nov. 6 and runs through Saturday, Nov. 8.  Parings have yet to be determined.
