TEMPE, Ariz.—
Kaili Chamberlin scored a career high 17 points to lead McNeese women's basketball to a 63-42 win over Nevada here Saturday on the final day of the Briann January Classic. With the win, McNeese improves to 6-3 while Nevada falls to 4-5 overall.
Joining Chamberlin in double figures was
Dakota Howard who finished the game with 12 points.
The Cowgirls jumped out to an early 6-4 lead before going on an 11-0 run to extend its lead to 17-4 late in the first quarter.
McNeese held a 37-21 halftime lead behind a 57 percent field goal shooting percent. The Cowgirls scored 25 of their first half points off 16 Nevada turnovers. Most of those turnovers lead to layups for the Cowgirls.
Dakota Howard scored 10 first half points and
Kaili Chamberlin had nine points at the half.
The Cowgirls opened the second half on a 13-2 run to extend its lead to 24 (50-23) and held as much as a 27-point lead in the third quarter.
The Cowgirls will return to action on Dec. 12 to host East Texas A&M in its Southland Conference opener.

• McNeese shot 57% from the field in the first half and scored 25 of their points off 16 Nevada turnovers.

• Outscored the Wolf Pack 17-13 in the quarter
