| By:
LAKE CHARLES – The McNeese Cowgirl tennis team will carry a six-match winning streak into a slate of four home contests this weekend, beginning Friday at 10 a.m. against Tyler Junior College.

That match will be followed by a 2 p.m. event against Southern, then on Sunday, the Cowgirls will host LSU-Alexandria for two matches beginning at 11 a.m.

All matches are played at the Nancy Hank Tennis Center on the McNeese campus.

The Cowgirls will enter the weekend with a 6-1 record and coming off some impressive wins at Missouri State, Central Arkansas and Alcorn to start the month of February.

Ana Hollweg, Toffee Ghorab and Ariane Monlleo Sanchis have each compiled a 5-2 singles record to lead the Cowgirls early on this season. Hollweg was named the Southland Conference's Player of the Week a couple of weeks ago for her outstanding play.

Hollweg and Elena Morales have teamed together to post a 3-0 record in doubles action.

Tyler JC is one of the nation's top junior college programs who the Cowgirls defeated 6-1 back on January 18 to start their current winning streak.

Following Sunday's events against LSUA, McNeese will hit the road for five straight matches beginning Tuesday at Louisiana-Lafayette. The Cowgirls will begin Southland Conference play during that stretch on March 1 at A&M-Corpus Christi.
