Charles, Brown and Garcia helped McNeese pull to withing 62-60 with 12:18 to play after three straight 3s from the trio, then another Charles trey at the 12:18 mark put McNeese back on top, 63-62. He later hit two free throws and sank another 3 after a Southeastern jumper and the Cowboys connected on 9 of 14 shots in the final 10:37 to pull away.

Richards Jr.'s three-pointer with 51 seconds remaining was the dagger that put McNeese up 85-75. Charles scored 11 of his points in the final 14 minutes while Garcia netted 10 in that span.
