Soccer adds four members to 2025 signing class

| By:
LAKE CHARLES – McNeese soccer head coach Drew Fitzgerald announced the signing of four new future Cowgirls to join the team in the fall of 2025 Wednesday afternoon.

Fitzgerald signed three players on National Signing Day in Ella Davis, Vitoria Miltre, and Elizabeth Meisner. Joining them will be Giulia Lucarelli, Alexandra Arvanitis, Jaimaris Diaz, and Sumayah Brown.

Giulia Lucarelli, 5-8, Defender/Forward, Cori, Italy (IISS Cesare Battist)
• Transfer in from Grand View University where she spent her freshman year
• Started all 13 matches she appeared in
• Earned one assist
Club: S.S. Lazio

Coach Quote: "Giulia is a very versatile, athletic player that can slot in just about anywhere on the field. She's got great size and pace and a feel for the game that gives her that versatility. She will help immediately add pace to the flank for us, whether in an attacking or defending role, and she's very comfortable playing with three at the back, which opens up some fun possibilities."

Alexandra Arvanitis, 6-0, Defender, Brampton, Ontario (Cardinal Ambrozic)
• Ontario Women's Soccer League (OWSL) 2024 Champion
• Ontario Women's Soccer League (OWSL) 2024 League MVP
• Disney Showcase 2024 Silver Medalist
Club: Athletic Institute Football Club

Coach Quote: "Alex is mobile, intelligent, physical, and is a player who we believe will be ready very quickly to help us on the backline. At 6' tall, she's good in the air, but she also does a great job of building with her feet and can spread the ball around the field."

Jaimaris Diaz, 5-6, Forward/Midfielder, West Palm Beach, Florida (Somerset Academy Canyons)
• U17-U20 Dominican Republic National Team
• High School All-Conference Second Team
Club: Palm Beach Gardens GA, Boca RL

Coach Quote: "Jaimaris is the kind of player who makes her teammates look good. Whether playing from the forward spot or an attacking mid, she has the ability to score herself or set up her teammates. Her teammates are going to love the opportunities she creates for them!"

Sumayah Brown, 5-4, Forward/Midfielder, Coconut Creek, Florida (North Broward Preparatory Schools)
• First Team All-County
Club: Florida United 06/07 GA

Coach Quote: "We actually saw Sumayah while watching Jaimaris play. Sumayah stood out immediately as a scoring threat and a hazard to deal with. We are excited to add her speed, quickness, and play making ability. She can play forward or an attacking mid role and is dangerous going forward."
