LAKE CHARLES—McNeese women's basketball heads into the final weekend of the Southland Conference regular season tied for the eighth and final spot for the SLC Tournament. The game will broadcast on ESPN+ and will be on TalkRadio 1470 AM.
 
McNeese (10-18, 5-12 SLC) is tied for eighth place in the conference standings with Texas A&M-Corpus Christi but currently have the tiebreaker over the Islanders due to its two over the Islanders. 
 
McNeese's remaining schedule has the Cowgirls traveling to Stephen F. Austin (24-5, 14-4 SLC) who is in third place in the standings, Thursday night at 6:30 p.m. then will travel to second place Lamar on Saturday.  The Cowgirls will conclude the regular season next Tuesday, March 4 in a 1 p.m. home game against New Orleans.
 
The Islanders will host New Orleans Thursday, Southeastern on Saturday, and Lamar next Wednesday.
 
McNeese is coming off a 69-60 win over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi last Saturday that put the Cowgirls in the driver's seat to clinch the final spot.
 
The Ladyjacks (24-5, 14-4 SLC) will carry a 10-game winning streak into Thursday's game.  SFA defeated the Cowgirls 91-49 in Lake Charles on Jan. 16 in the first meeting between the two teams.
 
Paris Guillory, who returned to action last Saturday after missing the previous 4 ½ games due to an injury, leads the Cowgirls in scoring with 15.0 ppg. while Mireia Yespes continues to lead the team with 7.3 rpg.
