LAKE CHARLES— McNeese softball will continue its six-day long road trip to Auburn, Alabama this weekend to take part in the Jane B. Moore Memorial hosted by Auburn.
McNeese (10-5) will play at 12:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday with its final game on Sunday set for 9 a.m.
The Cowgirls will open tournament play against UL-Lafayette (8-4) at 12:20 p.m. Friday. The Cowgirls will conclude Day 1 with a 5:30 p.m. game against No. 20 Auburn (14-1) and former Cowgirl head coach Chris Malveaux. Malveaux began his collegiate career at McNeese, spending seven years at McNeese (3 yrs. as assistant coach, and 4 as head coach). Malveaux guided the Cowgirls to the 2005 SLC Tournament title and an NCAA appearance in his first year as a collegiate head coach.
The Cowgirls will play Rutgers (7-9) a 12:30 p.m. Saturday and Auburn at 5:30 pm. before a 9 a.m. game against Rutgers on Sunday
McNeese is coming off a 4-0 loss at Ole Miss on Wednesday that snapped the Cowgirls six game winning streak.
Samantha Mundine continues to lead the Cowgirls at the plate with a .477 average and 21 hits while
Kassidy Chance is batting .440.
Alexis Dibbley leads the squad with 15 RBI and
Jada Muñoz has a team best four homeruns.

Maddie Taylor leads the staff with five wins (5-1), 24 strikeouts, and has a 3.53 ERA in nine appearances. Fellow freshman
Kadence Williams has a team low 2.10 ERA in eight appearances while
Ryann Schexnayder is 2-1 on the season with a 3.76 ERA.
