LAKE CHARLES—McNeese women's tennis will begin Southland Conference play this weekend when the Cowgirls travel to Corpus Christi, Texas to face Texas A&M-Corpus Christi in a 1 p.m. match Saturday, March 1.  The Cowgirls will continue their road trip with an 11 a.m. match at UTRGV next Monday, March 3.
 
The Cowgirls (12-1) will carry a 12-match winning streak into Corpus Christi (10-1) who has won a league high six SLC regular season titles including the last two and a league high seven SLC Tournament titles including the last four.
 
The Cowgirls will look to end an eight-match losing streak against the Islanders.  The last McNeese win over TAMU-CC was a 5-2 win in Lake Charles during the 2018 season.
 
Salome Fluri and Ariane Monlleo-Sanchis both lead McNeese in singles victories with 10 apiece, both heading into the weekend with a 10-2 record.
 
The Cowgirls No. 1 doubles team of Fluri and Stella Rundova are 8-1 on the season.
 
The Islanders' only loss of the season was a 4-1 home loss to UTSA on Feb. 10.
