LAKE CHARLES— McNeese women's basketball will travel to Beaumont, Texas this Saturday, March 1 to face Lamar in its final regular season road contest in the Battle of the Border. Tipoff is set for 3 p.m. at the Neches Center. The game will broadcast on ESPN+ and can be heard on TalkRadio 1470 AM.
McNeese 10-19, 5-13 SLC) enters the game in ninth place in the SLC standing following its 80-57 road loss at Stephen F. Austin on Thursday.
The Cowgirls are still in the hunt for a SLC Tournament berth but will need to either end the season one game ahead or tied with Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. McNeese has the tiebreaker over the Islanders due to two wins over the Islanders. McNeese will close out the regular season at home next Tuesday, March 4 against UNO. The Islander will host Southeastern Saturday and Lamar next Wednesday, March 5.
Lamar (20-7, 15-3 SLC) enters the game in second place, ½ game ahead of third place Stephen F. Austin after its 68-49 win over Nicholls Thursday. The Cardinals are also 12-1 at home this season with its lone home loss being a 58-56 loss to UTRGV last Saturday.
