LAKE CHARLES – A new era of McNeese football, under returning head coach Matt Viator, will kick-off its spring slate on Tuesday afternoon for the first of 15 practices over the next six weeks.
 
The Cowboys will practice every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon and on Saturday mornings with scrimmages slated for March 29 and April 5 while the spring game scheduled for April 12.
 
McNeese returns an abundance of players from last year's squad while also adding transfer talent from its mid-year signing class along with the February high school signees.
 
The team will practice at both the A.I. Ratcliff Practice Fields and in Cowboy Stadium throughout the slate.
 
McNeese will kick-off its 2025 football season at home on August 30 against Louisiana Christian, the first of six home games this season.
 
Season ticket renewals and new sales will begin on March 31.
