HAMMOND – McNeese baseball suffered its fifth loss of the season 6-0 to Southeastern at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field Friday night, its first shutout loss of the season. The Lions rise to 18-3 (7-0 SLC) as the Cowboys move to 15-5 (6-4 SLC) on the campaign.

Through five shutout innings for both squads, junior
Cooper Golden threw five hitless innings on the mound while the offense tallied three hits. The Lions collected their first hit in the sixth inning.

Southeastern plated their first run in the bottom of the sixth on a sacrifice fly for the 1-0 lead. Southeastern plated its second run of the evening in the seventh on an RBI double to left center.

The Lions earned four runs in the bottom eighth on an RBI single followed by a three-run home run with two outs on the board.

Larry Edwards Jr., a junior, recorded his eighth multi-hit game of the season with two hits at the plate. He's tied alongside senior
Conner Westenburg for the most multi-hit games on the season.
