NACOGDOCHES, Texas—One day after making Southland Conference history by winning its fourth straight regular season title, McNeese softball completed its regular season SLC series sweep over Stephen F. Austin on Sunday with an 11-2 (5 inn.) run-rule win.

McNeese improves to 37-18 overall and finishes the SLC regular season with a 23-4 record.  Stephen F. Austin falls to 26-27 overall and 14-13 in the SLC.

The Cowgirls outhit the Ladyjacks 10-3.  Four of the 10 Cowgirl hits were extra base hits including three doubles and one triple.  McNeese scored at least two runs in four of the five innings and led 6-0 after the second inning.

HOW IT HAPPENED
T1- Kassidy Chance led the game off with a walk then stole second to move into scoring position. A double by Nyjah Fontenot scored chance for the first run of the game.  Fontenot scored following a triple by Samantha Mundine. McN 2, SFA 0
T2- McNeese added four runs on two hits including a bases loaded walk by Nyjah Fontenot, two wild pitches, and a RBI single by Jada Muñoz. McN 6, SFA 0
B3- SFA scored its two runs on a two RBI single by Kyi'Marri Ester. McN 6, SFA 2
T4- McNeese got the two runs back on a RBI by Adriana Mireles and an SFA error. McN 8, SFA 2
T5- Three more runs for the Cowgirls came from a Delaney Dunham RBI, a wild pitch that scored Nyjah Fontenot, and a Mireles RBI single
 
NOTES
• McNeese completed the SLC series sweep over SFA
• After being swept at Lamar in the SLC opening series in early March, McNeese won the next eight series
• Of the eight SLC series wins this season, six were series sweeps
• Nyjah Fontenot ended the SFA series with a .600 batting average (6 for 10, one double, 1 RBI, four runs)
• Jada Muñoz had a .500 batting average (4 for 8, one double, one homerun, seven RBI, three runs
• Emma Banks improved to 2-0 on the season with the win
