LAKE CHARLES—For the fourth straight game in the 2025 Southland Conference Tournament and fifth straight home conference tournament game dating back to 2023, the last time McNeese hosted the SLC Tournament, the Cowgirls win in walk-off fashion.
Samantha Mundine's game winning one out single in the bottom of the seventh inning gave No. 1 seed McNeese (41-18) a 3-2 walk-off win over No. 2 seed Southeastern (46-14) in the first game of the SLC Championship Series Thursday night.
The walk off RBI is Mundine's second in four games. She was responsible for the walk-off walk in McNeese's 5-4 (8 inning) win over East Texas A&M in the Cowgirls' first game of the SLC Tournament- Lake Charles Bracket exactly one week ago tonight.
The series will continue Friday at 6 p.m. A win by McNeese would clinch their 10
th overall SLC Tournament title. A win by Southeastern would force an if necessary game at 6 p.m. Saturday night. The series winner will represent the Southland in the NCAA Tournament.
