VB: Cowgirls Travel To Tallahassee For Florida A&M Invitational

LAKE CHARLES—McNeese volleyball will travel to Tallahassee, Florida this weekend, Thursday, Sept. 11 and Friday, Sept. 12 to take part in the Florida A&M Invitational.  The Cowgirls (3-3) will face Florida A&M (1-5) at 11 a.m. (CT) on Thursday then will close out tournament action against Georgia State (5-1) at 1 p.m. (CT) in a match that will be played on the Florida State campus.

McNEESE NOTES
• Coming off a 1-2 record at its own Cowgirl Classic with its win coming against Alcorn in the Cowgirls' opening match of the tournament
 
• This will be the third consecutive tournament in as many weekends.  McNeese opened the season at the Sam Houston Invitational where they came away with the championship title then returned to Lake Charles last weekend for its own tournament.  
 
• Freshman Ava Henry and senior D'Nari Mills were named to the all-tournament team for the second time this season.
 
• McNeese will face host Florida A&M at 2:30 p.m. Thursday day and Georgia State at 12 p.m. Friday for the only two tournament matches for the Cowgirls.
 
D'Nari Mills continues to lead the team with 81 kills and digs (61); freshman Kinga Ziolkowska leads the team in assists 149) and service aces (8); and senior Jordan Gamble leads the team with 17 blocks.
 
• Following this weekend, the Cowgirls will have one more regular season tournament - at Houston (Sept. 19-20).
 
• The Cowgirls will return home next Tuesday, Sept. 16 to face Southern.
 
• Head coach Sasha Karelov is in her fourth season with the Cowgirls.
 
• McNeese returns three players from last season (seniors Kayla Wilson and Lauren Fuller and sophomore Corynne Hausler).
 
• The 2025 roster consists of 15 newcomers including eight freshmen.
