LAKE CHARLES—McNeese women's basketball (13-4, 7-1 SLC) will continue its Texas swing when the first place Cowgirls visit UTRGV on Saturday, Jan. 17 in the first game of a SLC doubleheader with the Cowboys.  Tipoff is set for 2 p.m. with the game being streamed on ESPN+.
McNeese extended its winning streak to six games with a 59-42 win at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Thursday.

Freshman Dakota Howard and graduate Arianna Patton are the only Cowgirls averaging in double figures.  Howard leads the team with 12.1 ppg. and Patton is averaging 10.1 ppg.  Howard also leads the team with 45 steals and is third on the team in rebounds, pulling down 5.3 per game.

Patton leads McNeese with a 39.4 three-point field goal percent.  She has made 39 treys this season and is coming off a game where she was 3 of 4 from behind the arc.  Sophomore Tyreona Sibley is second on the team with 5.4 rpg.  Senior Jalencia Pierre leads the Cowgirls with 3.7 assists per game.

UTRGV (9-8, 6-2) will carry a four-game winning streak into Saturday's game following its 78-65 home win over Southeastern on Thursday.  The Vaqueros have also defeated Texas A&M-CC, NW State and East Texas A&M during its winning streak.
