LAKE CHARLES—McNeese women's tennis will host Alcorn on Wednesday, Jan. 28 in its 2026 opening match. First serve is set for 12 p.m. at the Nancy Hank Tennis Center.
 
Second year head coach Sonia Carlson returns six players from her 2025 squad that posted a 19-7 overall record that included a 12-match winning streak during the season.
 
The returnees include the 2025 Southland Conference Player and Freshman of the Year in Sophomore Salome Fluri and the 2025 SLC Newcomer of the Year in junior Ana Hollweg.
 
Other returnees include junior Erica Hagi, and sophomores Alexa Martinez, Elena Morales, and Stella Rundova.  The newcomers include transfer Leana Gomez and freshman Naomi Hagi.
 
 
SCHEDULE UPDATE
McNeese's home match against Lubbock Christian scheduled for this Saturday, Jan. 31 has moved to Monday, Feb. 2. First serve is scheduled for 10 a.m. at the Nancy Hank Tennis Center.
 
COWGIRL NOTES
• Salome Fluri enters the season having won her last 19 matches dating back to last season
• Will play 11 of its first 13 matches on the road
• Following Monday's home match, the Cowgirl won't play a home match until its March 7 conference match against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi
